Parenting Support

Nowadays black children face many challenges when growing up. Our project has been delivering parenting skills so parents and carers can offer better guidance and support to their children. The project is being delivered through monthly workshops and one-to-one sessions at venues across London.

Young Peoples
Programme

Young people face many challenges in their day-to-day life, with the main ones being peer pressure, poverty, addiction to social media, substance misuse, and mental health struggles. During the year, we ran one-on-one sessions where young people received tailored advice and information that helped them address their challenges. Additionally, we held one group workshop where a NHS professional and a representative from Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) delivered presentations on neurodivergent conditions that affect young people, focusing on ADHD, autism and Asperger’s syndrome.

MMR Education

Black people in the UK are less likely to get vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella compared to other population groups. Our MMR awareness intervention aimed to get more children, young people and adults to access immunisation as a prevention measure. It also busted the myths and misconceptions about MMR that have often prevented people from getting the jab.
